This is such a nourishing cleanser. So affordable. Removes makeup effortlessly. The added squalane really nourishes and hydrates. For under £6.00 this is a great affordable first cleanse option.

I am in my late 20's/early 30's with sensitive, light tone skin and hazel eyes. My hair is medium brown, combination with coarse texture.
This cleanser removes my makeup amazingly well and is so gentle on the skin (even around the eye area). I don’t know if it’s the gentle feel that makes me think it hasn’t removed all my makeup (although my makeup is gone!) - I often have to double cleanse to really feel like my face is clean. The price point and quality of the product is ace though so no real complaints at all!

This cleanser really exceeded my expectations. For under £5 (or there abouts) it absolutely cannot be beaten on quality to price ratio.
It definite cleanses the skin well, doesn’t strip the skin and leave skin feeling too tight. I have been using this for nearly a year and love it. Only reason I give 4/5 is because I feel like you need quite a lot of product per cleanser.

I am in my late 20's/early 30's with oily, light tone skin and green eyes. My hair is blonde, processed with normal texture.
I bought this for myself originally because I have oily but dehydrated skin and thought this would be gentle enough to use. The one time I used it it was amazing, soft and gentle, hydrating and cleansing at the same time, not leaving my skin dry at all.
Unfortunately I had allergic reaction to squalene (I figured that after using another product with squalene being the main ingredient) and so I can't use it anymore. So just saying, patch test for sure even things that are supposed to be gentle because your skin can freak out for even hydrating ingredient such as squalene apparently.
Anyway, I gave it to my boyfriend who never cared about skincare since his skin is almost perfect except it is pretty dry. Now he is asking me when I'm gonna buy next one as it's running out for him. I can tell when he uses it because he has no dry skin after shower.
Would really recommend.

I brought the daily routine kit, you use this first. It turns from a creamy texture to an oil in no time at all. It sinks into the skin lovely and get rid of any left over make up and dirt no problem. I was it off my face with warm Water an leave it to settle before adding the next two steps. My skin feels fresh and really clean. I have actually been super impressed at how my skin looks and feels after only using for a few days. I can definitely see a difference and am excited to seeing it improve daily. The price tag is so cheep it’s unbelievable what this product can actually do. I’m a fan already

For the sole purpose of washing your face this is THE best cleanser I've ever used. I wear a lot of makeup so I wash my face a lot. I wash once in the morning, and double cleanse at night if I have worn makeup that day.
I haven't used this as a cleanser to remove makeup so I can't judge it on that, but I will judge it as a face wash.
Because I cleanse my skin so much weekly I'm at risk of really stripping my skin and I have struggled with that before. Some face washes I've found are too drying, while others just don't leave me feeling clean enough.
This for me, with having a dry skin type, is perfect. It's everything I need. The texture is brilliant, it easily, gently but effectively cleanses the skin and because it has squalene in it, it won't dry the skin out.
My only niggle with this cleanser is the size of it. So I got this in a 'daily set' and in conjuction with the other products my skin has been PHENOMENAL, however the 50ml tube just hasn't lasted me! It's around 5-6 pounds for this size which isn't too bad. But I've ended up biting the bullet and upgrading to the largest size of 150ml because I love it so much and it's had me gritting my teeth with the £13 price tag! I've NEVER spent that much money on a face wash it's almost absurd to me haha
But if that doesn't show you how much I'm loving this cleanser then I don't know what will!
Completely worth a go if your skin is on the dryer side, or even if your skin is any other type and you're tired of your skin feeling so dry right after cleansing.

I’m in two minds about this cleanser as it has pros and cons.
It’s a lovely balm cleanser which emulsifies really nicely when you add water. The Squalane makes it really gentle on your skin and doesn’t leave your skin dry after use.
It is suitable for use on the eyes but I didn’t find that it removed my mascara fully and had to use a separate makeup remover for that. Also, sometimes it didn’t irritate my eyes at all and some times it really stung - so I can’t work that out!
It’s great value for money but it does only have a 6 month shelf life.
This would be fine if it were the only cleanser on my shelf but I have quite a few that I like to rotate through - so I needed to remember that this one would go off quicker than others.
So yes, it works fine as a first cleanser but it’s definitely a no-frills experience. It’s unscented and a bit boring!
I like it but I don’t love it!

Sorry it’s taken me so long to getting around to reviewing this but I love it! I have used this 3-4 times now and really rate it! Can be used on all fave and eyes too as really gentle. Rub on hands then all over face then use a wet facecloth or warm water to wash away makeup. Removes stubborn eye makeup well and leaves skin fresh and soft after use. Hasn’t broke me out and twice after a night out fell asleep without doing a second cleanse or moisturising and woke up without any breakouts and
No makeup on my face. It’s a go to for me. Very good price very good product. Reminds me of the pre cleanse balm by dermalogica but a fraction of the cost. A MUST BUY IN MY OPINION 💕

I do really like it! I like that leaves skin soft after use so if In a rush or in my case drunk so fell asleep🤣 don’t feel bad for skipping moisturiser etc because cosme makeup removers make skin feel tight and dry not this one. It’s not a huge bottle but only a little needed and it’s dirt cheap!

The Ordinary designed its Squalane Cleanser 50ml to make it easier for customers to remove a build-up of make-up without causing an unnecessary amount of harm to the skin. To achieve this, and do so in a way that allows it to stand out in such a competitive market as make-up removal, The Ordinary has introduced certain emollients to achieve skin hydration and protection against dryness. Among the contributory components included in this is malic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid that promotes the production of collagen in the skin, improving its suppleness and elasticity. This, in turn, strengthens the connective tissues, restoring its look and feel. It also acts against harmful carcinogens by reducing the inadvertent creation of melanin through excessive sun exposure. Suitable for a wide range of skin types and conditions, it carries several significant labels including its status as a vegan-friendly, cruelty-free product, making it the perfect choice for conscious customers. Use of this product will, therefore, help regulate the number of oils and impurities bombarding the skin.
