Fabulous quality, the special shades are just that
This was my first Pat McGrath palette. I wondered if it would live up to the hype. I think it does, because the 'special' shades are just amazing.
However....it’s terribly pricey, the glittery shades fall down my cheeks so need a glitter glue and if you end with a collection of Pat McGrath palettes, there are too many shade repeats amongst the palettes. For instance, 3 of her palettes include the black, the pink shimmer is duplicated in the Divine Rose and the colours are all fairly dark, though that could just be because they are so pigmented. I don’t like the fact that the names are on a separate card so I can never find them. I order from the Pat McGrath website and their over-the-top packaging makes me cross. Plus her marketing strategies, where some things are 'limited edition' but then turn out not to be makes buying her stuff a bit of an ordeal. Hasn’t stopped me though!
Having said all that, I now feel spoilt because I expect all my eyeshadows to perform like this and last for hours. And that green...it had a black base and the effect is just stunning. The multi home effect of the toppers is stunning. The black is the blackest black and I often use it as a liner. The curation is spot on. This palette got me hooked on Mother Pat and it’s an expensive but satisfying addiction.
