Soap is commonly made with alkaline which can have a damaging effect on your skin. By showering with soap everyday the skin stripped of it's protective acid mantle which will make it more vulnerable to ageing, dryness and environmental irritants. Soap is also traditionally heavily perfumed which in some case can make it much harder to put down! These fragrances of delight, are however terribly drying on the skin and will only lead to further irritation.
