Discover Terracotta, a fragrance bursting with sunshine, inspired by the glowing radiance of Terracotta. An immediate escape to a faraway exotic paradise. Guerlain Master Perfumer, Thierry Wasser, has interpreted the iconic Terracotta Powder to create fragrance that bursts with sunshine. This highly-faceted perfume opens with fresh and addictive bergamot notes. A faceted citrus fruit that is zesty, green and floral, bergamot is often dubbed “Calabria's green gold” and is one of the House's favourite raw materials. The heart of the fragrance reveals a tiare flower ylang-ylang accord, a flower that grows in the Comoro Islands. Too fragile to be shipped, once picked it is immediately made into an essential oil using fire distillation. Ylang-ylang essence has a sunny, floral scent. The signature reveals a sensual, soft, all-enveloping vanilla note. One of Guerlain's favourite notes, the vanilla signature draws floral and almond accents. Featuring the Tahitensis vanilla varietal, the fragrance takes on a richly gourmand, cocoon-like facet. Designed by Raymond Guerlain in 1912, its iconic “inverted heart” bottle is underscored with graceful scrolls typical of Art Nouveau. A true technical feat, its avant-garde stopper, in the form of a hollowed heart, evokes the delicate romanticism of this perfumery masterpiece.
