So i’ve struggled with acne pretty much all my life. When i went into Topshop in London, a staff member recommended me this product. It was also on sale, so i jumped right in. There are a lot of reviews on this product that sounded really promising and I was super excited to see if it would work or not. The first thing I noticed was that there aren’t any instructions on the item on how to use it. I know The Ordinary as a brand keep costs low through using simple bottles and packages but I felt instructions were needed. The solution feels quite smooth on the face. A little sticky but doesn’t bother too much. I’ve used salicylic acid for my acne before. In the past it did NOTHING for my acne. Unfortunately this product did nothing for my acne as well. I would rather opt in for a different type of acid for acne or possibly explore a stronger solution. However, it didn’t cause a bad reaction either.

I am in my mid 20's with acne/problem, fair tone skin and blue eyes. My hair is blonde, processed with normal texture.
I’m not usually one for using skincare items but this works so well for healing spots and preventing spots from appearing.
At first when you start to use it you may experience small break outs the first 1-3 usage but I find this is standard for when you use new skincare products as your skin isn’t use to what your using on it.
It’s aim is to clear out pores and reduce spots and help the skin heal, I’ve not had a break out in forever since using this.
I only use it after I’ve washed my face properly or had a shower never after just removing my makeup with a wipe etc as I know my skin isn’t properly clean and feel it may not work aswell as my skin isn’t properly clean.
I feel my skin is so clear and looks glowy and clean after using this for a period of time.
You would think that putting an acid on your fave once a week would harm your skin however my skin isn’t sensitive at all and it hasn’t harmed my skin and I’ve used it for about a year now.
The bottle lasts a long time I’ve only used half and I use it atleast once a week regularly as you only need a small amount for it to work.
Overall I really enjoy using this product and the results are so good my skin is so clear

I am in my late 20's/early 30's with combination, fair tone skin and blue eyes. My hair is light brown, normal with normal texture.
I’ve heard everyone rave about this solution and I’m a little disappointed if I’m honest, it didn’t really do a lot compared to other salicylic acid based products I already have or have previously used, it’s kept my skin clear but not sure if it’s because of that or the other products I use. Will use in emergencies and always handy to have but I won’t be buying another once I’ve finished it.

I have heard sooooo many good things about this product so was soooo Keen to try it out. I’ve tried this twice now both times for a fortnight and I have now decided it is not the right product for me. I use products with salicylic acid in and never usually have a problem. However both times I’ve used this I have started it with bad skin hoping it would improve but it hasn’t it has got so much worse creating large painful boils- I initially thought it was my skin clearing out but continued every day and never got better. My skin has got so much better In 3 days from not using it! I also dislike how it goes on the face it is sticky and has a strange constancy. Sadly disappointed by my 2nd ordinary product :( I still have the nicinimade and squalane to try I hope there better or I won’t be trying anything else. 👎

✨I religiously use this when my oil levels are high, it keeps breakouts at bay without drying your skin out. This is also perfect for acne prone and extremely oily skin and works well alongside Benzoyl Peroxide if you use it. It works a treat on hormonal spots on your chin or jawline and prevents them breaking out into a full whitehead. The only issue is that it does pull, like most of The Ordinary products, which does feel a bit grim. However, for the budget friendly price of under £5, it is an inconvenience I can live with! Must have product!

Having suffered from acne for a long time, I’ve had to have a lot of strong chemical peels to finally balance out my skin. I use this product as a spot treatment when I get a breakout. I apply it at night and when I wake up it’s reduced by 50%. Salycilic acid works by unblocking pores under the skin. You can use in the daytime but you will need to use and spf which makes it less effective. I use it all over my face once a week to keep my skin spot free, you may get a tiny bit of peeling with it so don’t panic. It comes in a handy dropper bottle that way you’re not contaminating the product.
